I’m glad you appreciate my precision! Just today, I was threatening J with a wok in the name of that precision. I am a grammar crusader! Hopefully a not-totally-obnoxious one. I still feel bad when I have to point out a mistake in a professional document/venue.

It goes beyond giving permission to be uncool and actually encourages it, which is great.

I find myself falling into the “quick, look untouchable!” mindset quite a lot. But, when excited, I am a completely dorky goofball. It’s an interesting switch to throw, that’s for sure. I’m trying not to look “cool” for cool’s sake, but I’m also not resisting the urge to be somewhat distant and impassive when I honestly feel like it. Just being me, you know?

I agree with it sooo very much. Even as somebody who explicitly aims for “different” instead of “cool”, I sometimes find myself wanting people to think the way I act is cool. And then I remind myself how much I love all my friends who are silly and fun, and I (hopefully) snap out of it.
