I have been waffling about posting this prayer-poem, which is spontaneous and personal, but really, what&#8217;s the point of this spiritual blog if I&#8217;m not sharing things true-of-heart?<\/p>\n<p><i>Tefnut&mdash;<br \/>\nif I may be so bold<br \/>\nas to touch You,<br \/>\nI would like to rest<br \/>\nmy head against Your skin,<br \/>\nmy hair mingling with Your fur<br \/>\nwhich is rain<br \/>\nwhich is fur.<br \/>\nI am in love<br \/>\nwith the very idea of You,<br \/>\nYou water-lioness,<br \/>\na god-form of me,<br \/>\nso much greater and so deeply unknown.<br \/>\nYou live in my head<br \/>\nrichly adorned with greens and blues,<br \/>\nand I would praise Your name<br \/>\nwith every drop of sweat,<br \/>\nevery tear,<br \/>\nand every humid heartbeat.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Shu&mdash;<br \/>\nif I may be so bold<br \/>\nas to touch You,<br \/>\nI would like to open<br \/>\nmy wings to Your breath,<br \/>\nalighting upon Your currents<br \/>\nlike a leaf in the pulse<br \/>\nof the crosswinds.<br \/>\nI am made alive<br \/>\nby the wind that is Your domain,<br \/>\nand I have known You,<br \/>\nYou of gold and silver light<br \/>\ngleaming translucent in the breeze.<br \/>\nKnowing You are here<br \/>\nto uphold the sky<br \/>\nand let us taste each precious breath,<br \/>\nI praise Your name<br \/>\nwith every sigh,<br \/>\nevery song,<br \/>\nand every filling lung.<\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today is the birthday of Tefnut, goddess of moisture, and Shu, god of wind.
