However, it&#8217;s the first of the month, and as suggested, I will write a prayer to my Akhu and my Parents, my Mothers.<\/p>\n<p><i>dear akhu:<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Come in and share my bread;<br \/>\ncome in and share my tea and water.<br \/>\nI give thanks for my roots-who-are-people<br \/>\nand offer you all good and pure things<br \/>\na thousand times over and again.<br \/>\nMay this month see us<br \/>\nbegin a lovely, respectful relationship.<br \/>\nKnown and unknown, old or ancient,<br \/>\nyou are welcome in my home.<br \/>\nBlessed dead, I honor you.<\/p>\n<p><i>to my Mothers:<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Thank You for bearing me<br \/>\nbefore I knew I was born.<br \/>\nThank You for helping me sleep<br \/>\nand for helping me dream.<br \/>\nMay this month see us<br \/>\nbecome closer and fonder,<br \/>\nas I learn more about You<br \/>\nand spend more time in Your presence.<br \/>\nI wish to sit with You<br \/>\nand listen, and feel.<br \/>\nYou have my love<br \/>\nand forever my gratitude.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am sick and migraining, and have been sick all week, so I cannot sit in open shrine or do Senut.
